Fava (Yellow split peas)

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup fava
- 1 dry onion
- Salt and pepper
METHOD
- In a saucepan add the fava and water.
- When it starts boiling remove the foam that created and add the onion (skinned and whole), salt, pepper and let it boil.
- Empty as much water you can from the saucepan and pass the fava from the tool for mash.
- The fava is ready to serve.
TIP 2: Can be combined with fish, fried eggplant, fried zucchini, fried peppers …

What a nice and simple recipe. Reminds me of a split pea soup my grandma used to make when I was little. I will certainly keep this in my to do list.
