Ah Mizithra – how I miss it! When I lived in the US I could find it more easily and I used to grate it over pasta instead of Parmesan. Your Tiropitta looks fabulous!
@Dimah => try it! it’s really nice for breakfast!
@Ruby => mizithra gives special taste on any food that has been add!

) Your tiropitta looks incredibly tasty!
thank you for your visit too!
I can’t find mizithra here … should I use parmesan as a substitute? Or something else which tastes similar but could be more easily found?
@Lyta
instead of mizithra you can use anthotiro. but in case you can’t find it neither, use any white cheese or just feta cheese.
Thanks for your help! I will try the recipe soon; it sounds so easy too!

I’m glad to help!
The picture remind me of the tiropita’s my great Aunt in Greece use to make. To bad I was to young to care and watch how she made them. Your recipe tells us to make as a pie with the filling in the middle and several layers on top. Can this recipe also be make like the picture if so would you do anything different.
Elaine
hello and thank you for the visit!
of course you can make it like the photo! there is nothing different by making the pie like that!
you just lay one pastry sheet, add some of the filling in one side and then you can roll the sheet.
in this case we call it “strifti tiropitta”!
